Class 321 (321 406) of Silverlink seen at London-Euston, arriving from Birmingham New Street.
These units run on Silverlink County services between London and Watford, Milton Keynes, Northampton and Rugby. Some of them even extend as far as Birmigham New Street, and thus offer a low-cost alternative to Virgin West Coast on this route. Sadly, these services will be axed North of Rugby when Virgin Pendolini 390s begin revenue tilting-operation at 125mph-200kph, in Autumn 2004.
This rolling-stock was partly reliveried in 1998-99. Some units still have the BR-Network South East livery.
One can notice that some tracks are fitted with a live rail (750V DC). These are used by Silverlink Metro services (fitted with 313s and 508s), calling at all stations between London and Watford Junction. They share their slow tracks with London Underground (Bakerloo Line) between Queen's Park and Harrow & Wealdstone (2 live rails, +630V DC and -630V DC)
