First-class/cab trailer (DMFO) of a Class 332 of Heathrow Express.

Airline-style seats.

On no other UK train (save maybe on those Pullman services chartered by Sea Containers and alike) will one enjoy so much legroom, which is here really commensurate with chargeable fares...

HEx_misc_1.jpg (39660 bytes)

Class 332s of HEx feature a sophisticated video system called "Express TV", with various programs: BBC News 24 bulletin dedicated to HEx passengers, arrival directions, ads...

On top of that, this system plays safety and journey status announcements, with nice attendants on the tape, almost as good as non-virtual ones :-)

One can guess one of these on this flat screen...

This pic was made at Heathrow, between stations for Terminal 4 and and for Terminals 1-2-3.
Heathrow Express is doubtless the deerest railway service in the UK (£13/21 single for 14.6mi on London Paddington-T123) yet the cheapest, too, as not a single penny is payable to travel between T123 and T4 (1.8mi).

Yes, there can be such thing as a free lunch once in while :-)

16th August 2004.
