There is no armrest near the window but a long, not very convenient side rail, instead (very much in evidence on this pic)...

Correct amount of legroom, and a modern, bright atmosphere. But seats are hard and very upright, especially down the back. I would strongly recommend to bring a little pillow, especially when travelling between London and anywhere North of Preston...
<p>
And as one can notice, some seats are TOTALLY BLIND... Obviously not the best way to enjoy the scenery of Lake District...
