Lymington is a port for travelling to the Isle of Wight. A ferry can be seen here alongside Lymington Pier as the Blue Grey 3Cig unit approaches in the background. It is quite likely this delightful branch line would not be around today ...the 27th July 2006...if it was not for this the shortest sea crossing to the island.
