Bar/Standard-class car of a Class 442 of South West Trains seen at London-Waterloo, upon arrival from Weymouth.

These units were built in 1987-88 while the Dorset Coast was being electrified (750V DC, live rail). They run on the Wessex Electrics between London, Portsmouth, Weymouth and Southampton. These were the first trains in the World ever to run at 160kph-100mph using live rail electrification.

They were refurbished and reliveried in 2000.
