Standard-class saloon of a Bar/Standard-class car of a Class 442 of South West Trains.
Seats are of a different type from those fitted in other Standard-class cars.
Extra legroom available, as these airline-style seats are labelled as priority ones.
These units are often regarded as the best "Intercity" rolling-stock in Britain, although the Wessex Electrics ran under Network South East colours, not those of Intercity, in BR days.
They were refurbished and reliveried in 2000.
