465174 at London Bridge on 18 August 2004. The picture clearly shows the new buffer
covers fitted recently to deter surfers. Some delinquent youths have been riding on
the rear of these trains and been injured or even killed doing so. So the TOC took
action to prevent this by fitting the buffer covers illustrated in the picture and
they also removed the hand rails below the windscreens.

Farewell to Connex running the South Eastern Trains franchise...
Networker 465 of (ex-Connex) South Eastern Trains, seen upon arrival from Dartford at London-Charing Cross. These units have been running on SE Metro services since the early-90s. The livery is that applied by Connex in 1997-2000. The Connex branding and logo are currently removed. A new livery is expected once SET has been re-franchised by early-2005. 1st December 2003. Farewell to Connex running the South Eastern Trains franchise...
Networker 465 of (ex-Connex) South Eastern Trains, seen upon arrival from Hayes (Kent) at London-Charing Cross. These units have been running on SE Metro services since the early-90s. The livery is that applied by Connex in 2001-2003, similar to that of newly-introduced Electrostars 375s. The Connex branding and logo are currently removed. A new livery is expected once SET has been re-franchised by early-2005. 1st December 2003. P.L.Guillemin (plguillemin@yahoo.fr) |

Farewell to Connex running the South Eastern Trains franchise...
Interiors of a Networker 465 of (ex-Connex) South Eastern Trains, seen on a Dartford-London-Charing Cross service, between Lewisham and New Cross. These units have been running on SE Metro services since the early-90s. As on all suburban stock of South Eastern Trains (viz. 423s), 3+2 seating prevails. Small vestibules and the narrow aisle turn out to be very problematic at peaks. These units will be displaced to Kent Link services from Summer 2004 by Electrostars 376 Metro units. 1st December 2003. P.L.Guillemin (plguillemin@yahoo.fr) |
