Driving/luggage-trailer, seen on a Gatwick Express service.

There is only 1 such Mk2 push-pull set still running on Victoria-Gatwick, primarily as a back-up for 460s.

This is actually a former Driving/Motor car of a slam-door commuter EMU (413, 414 or 416).

When Gatwick Express was upgraded to Mk2 cars (1984), those Mk1 trailers lost their motors.

They were also remodelled into a large (restricted) luggage-van, so as to attend the needs of a newly-available advance check-in service from Victoria.

In the aftermath of 9/11, Victoria check-in counters closed down, sadly...
