The photograph of 507012 and 508140 demonstrates the 'normal' appearance of the refurbished units, but there were two single units which emerged different to the rest; although slight, there are both immediately noticeable.

Here is first refurbished unit, 508110, photographed at Moorfields station working the 14:26 to Chester. The unit has a yellow 'eyebrow' appearance at the top, and the steps at the bottom of the front end are painted black as opposed to yellow in the rest of the fleet.
