View looking inti the cab of of the rebodied Networker Classic coach
No: 76112 while on display at the South West Trains Bournmouth depot
open day on Saturday 16th May 1998.
This vehicle used the underframe & equipment of the original 76112
(ex Class 421/3 DTCsoL) which had it's original MK1 bodywork cut away
from the underframe and replaced by a more sturdier steel body bolted
on to it's underframe.
At the fraction of the cost of a complete new car or unit, this method
creates a cheaper, stronger unit to produce from MK1 designed stock
for prospective TOC's or ROSCO's, currently operating these units, who
are currently looking to replace such vehicles with new vehicles.
