The DLR track between Tower Gateway and Shadwell stations, elctrified via a 750v DC bottom-contact 3rd rail runs along side the mainline tracks into London Fenchurch Street that are electrified via 25kb AC overhead lines.

There are three sets of tracks in this photograph, from left to right they are the Docklands Light Railway to/from Bank, the DLR to/from Tower Gateway and c2c to/from London Fenchurch Street. The DLR tracks are electrified with a 750v DC bottom-contact third rail, while the mainline is electrified at 25kv AC using an overhead cantenary. This photograph was taken from the rear window of an eastbound DLR train.
