HISTORY. London Underground's East London Line will close on December 22nd 2007 and re-open in 2010 as part of London Overground...so we thought it was about time we took a run and some pictures before it was too late! This Underground branch, that was originally part of a line out of Liverpool Street, used to up until last year run between Shoreditch and New Cross or New Cross Gate but now starts from Whitechapel. It will eventually form part of a circular line encompasing the North London lIne, Clapham Junction, and Kensington Olympia. A train is seen departing from Surrey Docks on the 9th November 2007.
