The District and Hammersmith & City Line platforms pass over the East London Line at Whitechapel tube station. This view from the window of the footbridge to the East London Line from the ticket office is thus possibly the only place where you can see all three sub-surface stock types in one photograph. In the background is a Hammersmith and City Line 'C' stock; a District Line D stock is in the top foreground whle an East London Line 'A' stock is on the lower level track.
