Looking North along the Great Western Main Line from the A370 Bridgwater Road bridge at the southern edge of the Uphill area of Weston-super-Mare, the high bridge carries Bleadon Hill road over the railway. Uphill Junction, where the Weston-super-Mare loop diverges from the mainline, is a short distance beyond the bridge in the distance. The line was closed for the first day of a week-long engineering possesion between Worle Junction in the northern suburbs of Weston-super-Mare and Cogload Junction north of Taunton. The trackworkers appear to be inspecting the line in advance of track replacement - the Network Rail track replacement train was working north from Uphill Junction.

Looking south along the Great Western Main Line from the bridge that carries Broadway accross the railway line in the south of Weston-super-Mare, immediately south of Uphill Junction where the Weston-super-Mare loop diverges from the mainline, the points allow access to the southbound track from the loop. The line was closed for the first day of a week-long engineering possesion between Worle Junction in the northern suburbs of Weston-super-Mare and Cogload Junction north of Taunton. New rails have been placed alongside the northbound (right) track in preparation for relaying later in the week.
