BR Standard Class 4 2-6-0 No. 76009 (really 76079) and SR Bulleid ‘Battle of Britain’ 4-6-2 No 34067 Tangmere (only the roof is visible in this photo) at platform 1 of Bishops Lydeard station on the West Somerset Railway during the Spring Steam Gala. After waiting in the station for the southbound service to vacate the single line to Crowcombe Heathfield, the locos will double-head the last leg of the charter service from London Paddington to Minehead that was conveyed by 34067 alone as far as the WSR.
The red barriers accross the platforms are to prevent access to the pedestrian level crossing, which is just out of shot off the bottom of this photograph. The crossing has been closed for safety reasons as BR Standard Class 9F 2-10-0 No 92203 Black Prince will shortly be arriving into platform 2 with a southbound service from Minehead.
