KESR. ex-War Department Austerity 0-6-0T #23 (ex-WD 191) built by Hunslet in 1952 at Tenterden Town Station in August 1976. All 3 cars are Austin 7's from the 1930s, which means that the steam locomotive is about 20 years newer than the automobiles.

KESR. ex-War Department Austerity 0-6-0T #23 storms into Rolvenden Station in August 1976. The train was composed of an ex-SECR birdcage brake, 2 Maunsell corridor coaches and an ex-GWR railcar W20W.

KESR. ex-LBSCR Terrier 0-6-0T #3 (ex-Br 32670) "Bodiam" enters Tenterden Town Station in June 1974. The Maunsell coach next to the engine is an indication of how small these 27 ton locomotives are.

KESR. This is ex-SECR seven compartment "birdcage" brake 1106 pictured on the Kent and East Sussex Railway during June 1974. It was renumbered 3368 by the Southern Railway and subsequently served on the Longmoor Military Railway before going to the KESR. The train guard would ride in the raised portion and observe signals.
