Although Axminster station in East Devon has two platforms, only one is in use. This sign on the disused platform shows the direction of travel of services to Exeter and London Waterloo via Yeovil Junction and Salisbury.

Looking south from the northern end of Axminster station in Devon. Only one of the two platforms at this station is currently in use, although there are plans to construct a passing loop through the station to enable a more frequent service to Exeter.

South West Trains Class 159 DMU 159007 is seen here ariving into the station with a service to London Waterloo.

Between 1903 and the Beeching cuts of the 1960s this station was also the start of the branch to Lyme Regis.

The front of the station building at Axminster station on the West of England Main Line in East Devon. Opened on 19 July 1890 the station currently only has one platform, but between 1903 and the Beeching cuts of the 1960s it was the start of the branch line to Lyme Regis.
