Looking north from the southern end of Cardiff Queen Street railway station. On the left is the present platform 1 where northbound services on the Valley Lines call. Platform 2 on the right is for southbound services to Cardiff Central and on to Penarth and Barry. Platform 3 on the extreme right is used almost exclusively for services to and from Cardiff Bay station.<br>
At the time this photograph was taken three different Arriva Trains Wales DMUs were in the station, at platform 1 is Class 143 railbus DMU 143609 heading for Treherbet. At platform 2 is Class 150/2 150245 with a southbound service to Coryton. To the right again is single-car Class 153 unit 153312 which has just aarrived on the shuttle service from Cardiff Bay - to where it will once again head after a 5 or so minute turn around.
