Looking west from the eastern end of platform 1 of Dorchester South station, the third last station on the 750v DC third rail electrified London Waterloo to Weymouth line. Less than half a mile west of the station the unelectrified "Heart of Wessex" line from Bristol to Weymouth via Bath, Westbury and Dorchester West joins this line.
