Looking east from the about the centre of the concourse building at Gloucester station, located on platform 2. Platform 1 is a continuation of platform 2 which starts after the signal seen in the middle distance. Both platforms 1 and 2 can accommodate full length HSTs, giving an appreciation of just how long the platform is (its the longest in the country).
On the left is a Central Trains Class 170 DMU (the livery suggests it was inherited from Midland Mainline) at platform 4. The yellow that can just be seen in the distance is the front warning pannel of DRS Class 37 locomotive 37608, stabled on a siding off the end of platform 1.
