Platform 3 is the sole remaining operational bay platform at Gloucester station, although what is presently a siding was I suspect also a bay platform previously. The station design suggests there was also a third west-facing bay platform on the far side of the station, and at least three east-facing bays at the far end.

On the right of the photo, a First Great Western HST with powercar 43041 City of Discovery at the western end is currently waiting at platform 2 with a London Paddington to Cheltenham Spa service.
