The sign on the Holyhead-bound platform of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch station on Anglesey. The second line is the approximate pronunciation as a guide to English speakers - Llan-vire-pooll-guin-gill-go-ger-u-queern-drob-ooll-llandus-ilio-gogo-goch. The 'ch' is as in German, the pronunciation of the Welsh 'll' is notoriously difficult as there is no equivalent in English. Put your tounge as if you were going to say an l and blow.

A general view of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch station on Anglesey. The name translates as "The church of St. Mary in the hollow of white hazel trees near the rapid whirlpool by St. Tysilio's of the red cave" and was coined to bring tourists to the town, originally just Llanfairpwllgwyngyll.
