Part of the original facade of the 1886 Blackfriars station has been relocated to the concourse of the 1977 station. This part bears the names of many of the business capitals of Europe - the original station was a major departure point for travel to these cities.

The 2 tracks in the foreground (Platforms 4 and 5) are for the Snow Hill Tunnel, and thence accommodate Thameslink services accross London.

Conversely, tracks further right (Platforms 1 to 3) terminate under the shed, and accommodate some SET services.

The office block in the background accommodates the (underground) station of City Thameslink, whose platforms actually extend very close to that portal.
