A general view of Salisbury station taken from the western end.
Ever since the 1906 Salisbury Rail Crash, when a London and South Western Railway express from Plymouth derailed and colided with a milk train on a very sharp curve to the east of the station when racing a Great Western Railway express to London, all through trains have been required to stop at Salisbury station.
