Looking east from the western end of platform 2 at Taunton station. Platform 1 is a bay platform on the extreme right of shot, platforms 3 and 4 in the middle were disused for many years before being reopened recently. Moving further left is platform 5, the northern most of the through lines. Behind the eastern end of platform 5 is platform 6, a bay platform for northbound services. Two bay platforms behind the western end of platform 5, the second face of platform 1 and a bay platform behind that are all now disused.
