Platform 1 at Taunton station, on the left of this image, is now almost compeltely disused. The left hand platform face and the other platform adjacent to it and the sidings beyond are completely disused, but probably saw much use before the closure of the Minehead and Barnstaple branch lines.
Platform 2 on the right of the image is still in active service for southbound through trains and some terminating services from the north. The centre platforms on the extreme right were also disused until the past couple of years.
