Thurso station - the most northerly station on the British rail network. I would love to have had a photo of a train arriving here, but alas as there are only three services a day that would have meant a significant wait and my companions don't share my enthusiam for trains.

Thurso station - the most northerly station on the British rail network. This view gives the impression that the station was once a much grander affair than these days.

Thurso station - the most northerly station on the British rail network and the end of the Far North line. I don't know whether this represents any particular 4-4-0 steam locomotive called Caithness or if it is just symbolic of a bygone age and, presumably, bygone grandure for this northern outpost.
