Looking south towards Weston-super-Mare from the pedestrial footbridge at Yatton station in North Somerset. Although it only has two platforms now, this was once a junction station for two branch lines. The short branch to clevedon was on the right, and the longer 'Strawberry Line' through the Cheddar valley to Wells used to be where the car park on left currently is. Both lines fell to Beechings axe in the 1960s, amid much local protest.

Although some intercity services stop here, many pass through at quite a speed on this straight section of track - note the prominent yellow lines on the platforms that passengers are advised to stand behind to avoid the air turblance the passing trains cause.
