4079_Avonmouth_Docks_30.5.1977. UK heritage steam in the 1960s and 
1970s. GWR Castle Class No.4079 Pendennis Castle arrives in Avonmouth 
Docks on 30th July 1977, to be loaded aboard MV Mishref for delivery 
to the locomotive's new owners, Hammersley Iron, of Australia. As is 
well known, after 23 years in Australia, No.4079 returned to Britain and 
is now in the care of the Great Western Society at Didcot. Port of 
Bristol Authority 0-6-0DM No.PBA 40 ( Sentinel 1965) is assisting the 
4-6-0 along the sharply curving dockside lines. PBA 40 did not survive 
the 1983 closure of Avonmouth Docks’ railway system.
