Great Western Railway - UK
Didcot Railway Centre is the living museum of the Great
Western Railway.
Express passenger locomotive 4079 "Pendennis Castle"
was built in 1924 as part of the famous 4073 Castle class of
which 166 were built. It was withdrawn by BR in 1964 and later
exported to Australia. In 2000 it returned to the UK and since
2022 the locomotive is operational again, suited for main line use.
