Horfield, 18 February 2006: 4-cylinder LMS Pacific 6201 Princess Elizabeth powers up the long climb of Horfield Bank, from Bristol Temple Meads to Filton, returning to Birmingham with “The Midlander”, an enthusiasts’ special of 12 coaches. 6201 was making her first visit to Bristol for many years, working one of its first trains following a lengthy and expensive repair, necessitated by a catastrophic failure of the inside motion. Fortunately, nobody was hurt in the incident, which occurred during a high speed descent from Shap Summit.
