Built as "Golden Shuttle" for the London North Eastern Railway 4489 was renamed "Dwight D Eisenhower", the only UK Locomotive named after a US Citizen, in honour of help in World War 2 from the USA.  It is the only mainline UK steam locomotive in the USA. It is accompanied by the command carriages used in Worldwar 2 by Eisenhower. Both former LNER and were used all over Europe before returning to the LNER, and later British Railways.
