A4 Pacific 60009 is taken out of Norwich Station by the class 31 to be turned on the triangle. The date is the 11th October 2003.

One of the many pleasures of travelling behind a steam loco in this age of units is observing the reaction of people to it. Even though steam runs are not unusual in the UK, regular passengers never expect to see one suddenly appear as they await their train. The result is often a look of astonishment but best of all many smiling, happy faces. Not only that, people wave at you as you go past..... that never happens when I'm on a unit...and a man with a tripod and camera suddenly appears in the middle of a field hoping to capture that moment when our train passes his vantage point. It was a really enjoyable day out made even better by perfect weather. Photographers everywhere took advantage of it whilst For those who happenned to see 60009 purely by chance, I am sure for many it made their day.
