The little train of the Ano Lechonia - Milies line. It´s a train with 600mm gauge.
The diesel locomotive 9501 (steam loco imitation) is new, made in 2000 by Schoema, the waggons originaly from the beginning of this railway line and 100 years old. The picture was taken at Milies station in 2001.

The typical stop in the scenic route from Ano Lechonia to Milies is Ano Gatzea, where
you can drink some refreshments, taste some local delicacies, chat with the cafe
owner under the trees, and even
get some postcards from the area (including one with the local steam train in the snow).
One of the new diesels for regular excursion service in the route, built by Schoema heads today the steam train, due to fear about forest fire from the steam locomotive exhaust. When it's time to do a photostop and/or runby, the diesel uncouples for the benefit of the photographers, leaving the small steam loco make up quite a show ;-) Digital photo was taken in Sunday 8 June 2003.
