Station of AMYNTAION (read: "Aminteo"!) on the railway line in Aegean Macedonia (Greece): Thessaloniki - Platy - Edessa - Florina/Kozani/Bitola. This is a junction station: here join three railways: Amintayion - Florina, Amintayion - Kozani and Amintayion - Kremenica - Bitola. The line Amintayion - Messonission - Kremenica - Bitola is out of use, but it will re-opened again in 2014 - for passenger and freigt train service between Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. OSE - Greece The station of Aminteo looks a bit oversized with 7 tracks, and only 5 trains to Thessaloniki, 5 to Florina and 3 to Kozani every day! Also freight traffic is very limited. But all tracks have recently been replaced. Aminteo, 28-05-2007 Digital photo by Marco van Uden
