Eirini_station.jpg (113726 bytes)

The ISAP (http://www.isap.gr) Eirini station is near the Olympic Games installations, so it'll have a heavy passenger load during the 2004 Athens Olympics. Most of the existing station is by now razed and only one platform is accessible to passengers at the time the photo is taken. The station is expected to nearly double track capacity for the 2004 Olympics, and the work proceeds in a fast pace, despite the passengers being very inconvenienced.

Digital photo taken in May 2003.
