The HZ 6111-020 EMU, 25 kV ~ 50 Hz at commuter service, driving alongside the container shunting station (seen on the left) between the stations Kustosija and Vrapce on Zagreb - Dobova (Slovenia) mainline. The pictured unit is a rare representative of the class 6111 having two double pantographs.
At Croatian Railways, the trailers of EMU-s and DMU-s are numerated as follows:
On the front and the rear side of the unit (at this picture, the rear side is spotted) a unique number is found, in this case 6 111 020, while on the sides of the trailers one can observe the full UIC numbers, beginning with the 98 78 (= traction unit for domestic utilization of the Croatian Railways), followed by a number 4, 5 and 6 for each trailer. The other digits remain the same.
In the considered case we have:
98 78 4 111 020-6
98 78 5 111 020-3
98 78 6 111 020-1.
The digits separated with hyphens are check digits.

The HZ 6111 class EMU-s, consisting of three cars, are regularly used as Zagreb suburban train and therefore popularly called "The Zagreb Metro" (since there is no underground railway). They make connection between Dugo Selo and Savski Marof (with train nos. 7800-7809) and between Dugo Selo and Dobova (with train nos. 8000-8063), making total of about 74 daily passages in both directions. They all pass through Central Station (Glavni kolodvor). This EMU no. 6111021 was photographed at Zagreb Glavni Kolodvor on 1999/09/06 at 14:30.
Technical data: 25 kV 50 Hz current system (marked by the "1" as the second digit of the serial no.), max. speed: 120 km/h.
