The funicular of Zagreb was first opened in 1889, built by a subsidiary of Ganz (Budapest). In 1934 the tramway company took over the operation and replaced the steam engine by an electric drive. In 1934 it was completely rebuilt with new cars and new stations (mostly in the old shape). The line is 66 m long with a height difference of 30.5 m, the maximum incline is 52 %. 2003-01-01.
