MÁV diesel-electric engine M61 019 "NOHAB" with an M62 "Sergei" engine at Aszófő station on the north shore of Lake Balaton, in August 1997. The Sergei failed on a passenger train and the NOHAB came to rescue the train. It uncoupled the M62 and pushed it onto another track. 20 such NOHAB's were obtained by Hungarian State Railways, of which 8 are still operable. Equipped with a General Motors engine rating 1435 kW, they have a maximum speed of 105 km/h. They were built in Trollhätten, Sweden in 1963-64 by NOHAB. Seven of them are stationed in Tapolca (northwestern Hungary) and they work local and fast trains between Székesfehérvár and Tapolca/Celldömölk, and the daily Szombathely-Kaposvár train. M61 004 and M61 010 were repainted into original-like red liver with body stripes. Photograph taken by Ferenc Joó (ferencj@mkk.zpok.hu); Scan: László Szita (szita@yahoo.com).
