Diesel-hydraulic engine Mk48 411 of the 760 mm gauge Gyöngyös system at Lajosháza, the terminal of one of the two branches (in north-eastern Hungary). This was a special train on June 22nd 1997, on the occasion of the annual open day of the system. (Each narrow-gauge line in Hungary has a dedicated day of the year when they have special trains. For more details, visit http://www.c3.hu/(levego/9803/980310b.htm). This engine was built in 1960-61 and has an output of 147 kW, with a maximum speed of 50 km/h. It was originally built for MÁV (Hungarian State Railways) with original number Mk48 2005, and was acquired by the Gyöngyös system sometime between 1976-80.
