IE - Ireland
Although only built in 1993, class 2600 are the oldest diesel trainsets in service for Iarnrod Eireann. A trainset with motor car 2605 leading has just arrived with the local service from Cork in Cobh. Cobh is a nice touristic village at the seaside. The railway station is quite small with only 1 platform track.

These Japanese built DMU's have taken over much of the suburban services around Dublin and Cork in recent years. Although not really suited to mainline duties they have operated the Ballybrophy-Limerick and Dublin-Waterford lines. (May 1995)
