This is one of 15 units ordered by SAD/STA, with 8 more of the same type to be delivered to ÖBB (class 4160 would fit into the Austrian system). The units have 381 seats, a power of 3000 kW, reach a speed of up to 160 km/h and are capable of running in Austria and Italy, with one Austrian and two Italian pantographs on the roof. They will operate trains between Innsbruck, Lienz, Bolzano/Bozen, Merano/Meran and Malles Venosta/Mals starting december 2026. |
