ETR 160 002-A/B in Mürzzuschlag, with some cables taped to the outside and going into windows, indicating the unit is here for test runs probably on the Semmering line. The six-car unit consists of carbodies numbered 94 83 4160 021-1, 022-7, 023-2, 024-3, 025-0 and 026-0 of I-SAD. This is one of 15 units ordered by SAD/STA, with 8 more of the same type to be delivered to ÖBB (class 4160 would fit into the Austrian system). The units have 381 seats, a power of 3000 kW, reach a speed of up to 160 km/h and are capable of running in Austria and Italy, with one Austrian and two Italian pantographs on the roof. They will operate trains between Innsbruck, Lienz, Bolzano/Bozen, Merano/Meran and Malles Venosta/Mals starting december 2026.
