06/05/2023: Open day at Pistoia DORS (Deposito Officina Rotabili Storici - Depot and repair shop for Historical rolling stocks), managed by "Fondazione FS". Fondazione FS Italiane looks after and manages the Italian State Railwaysā€™ vast historic heritage: it oversees a fleet of over 400 pieces of historic rolling stock, around 200 of which are in full working order. It also oversees the archives and libraries, both the Pietrarsa and the Trieste Campo Marzio Museums as well as some dedicated Depots (like Pistoia DORS). Steam Locomotive 740-254, from a Class of 1'D (2-8-0 Consolidation) train locomotives, stored outside in rusty condition.

This engine today belongs to a private enthusiasts association (ATSER "Adriavapore") Note that, as often happens also on active steam engines, the color of some details is different from the official pattern.

FS 740 287 displayed as a monument in Lamezia Terme on July 16th, 1993.
Note that the color of many details (handrails, wheel centers, rod grooves, handwheel of the smokebox door) is different from the official pattern.
