19/03/2023: Open day at La Spezia Migliarina DORS (Deposito Officina Rotabili Storici - Depot and repair shop for Historical rolling stocks), managed by Fondazione FS. Fondazione FS Italiane looks after and manages the Italian State Railways vast historic heritage: it oversees a fleet of over 400 pieces of historic rolling stock, around 200 of which are in full working order. It also oversees the archives and libraries, both the Pietrarsa and the Trieste Campo Marzio Museums as well as some dedicated Depots (like La Spezia Migliarina DORS). La Spezia Migliarina DORS is mainly devoted to Electric Locomotives. The Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane (FS; Italian State Railways) Class 835 (Italian: Gruppo 835) was the standard steam shunter of the FS. In all, 370 Class 835 locomotives were built between 1908 and 1922 (with the pause imposed by World War I, by Breda, Ansaldo, Reggiane and Officine Meccaniche, making the class one of the most numerous to circulate on Italian railways. 835-053 under restoration in the workshop of La Spezia Migliarina Depot.

06/05/2023: Open day at Pistoia DORS (Deposito Officina Rotabili Storici - Depot and repair shop for Historical rolling stocks), managed by "Fondazione FS". Fondazione FS Italiane looks after and manages the Italian State Railways’ vast historic heritage: it oversees a fleet of over 400 pieces of historic rolling stock, around 200 of which are in full working order. It also oversees the archives and libraries, both the Pietrarsa and the Trieste Campo Marzio Museums as well as some dedicated Depots (like Pistoia DORS). Locotender 835-008 around the turntable. Class 835, a class of C (0-6-0 OT) light machines, was the standard steam shunter of teh FS. In all 370 machines were built between 1908 and 1922. Class 835 soldiered on until the end of regular steam services in Italy, with at least 30 locos still active in tenearly '80s.

The entire peninsula of Istria (now Croatia) used to be part of Italy. Therefore it is at least a little bit logical that the locomotive plinthed in Pula is an Italian steam locomotive: former FS 835.040.
