Cairo Sadat Metro Station (Line 2), Tahrir Square. Construction of Cairo Metro Line 2 started in the mid 1990's and was completed in January 2005. It runs from the north at Shobra El Kheima to El Mounib, Giza Suburbs in the south. Its length is 13 miles (21.5 km) with 20 stations, and It is the first line in history to have a tunnel going under the Nile. Rolling stock is supplied by Mitsubishi.
