Tel Aviv, August 2001: there is an MF Esslingen railcar preserved at the Country Museum in the north of the city, along with two small diesels and one freight car. Here's how the diesel car looks from inside - and that's considered to be preservation!
Note the Peugeot 203 advertised above the amazingly narrow driver's cabin. The last time that anyone bothered to look into this trailer was somewhere in the mid-1970s. It was sent to Haifa-East for another ten years, where it was to be scrapped, until the museum in Tel Aviv agreed to swap their Hedjaz Railway Krauss 0-6-0 steamer, now kept in Haifa-East, with something bigger and newer. ISR gave them the diesel trailer rightaway.
