EAR class 59 #5930, Nairobi Railway Museum
East African Railways 5930 'Mount Shengena', a 4-8-2+2-8-4 Garratt steam locomotive, exhibited at Nairobi Railway Museum. Built by Beyer-Peacock in Manchester, England. Together with 'Mount Gelai', two locomotives of this class have been preserved at Nairobi. They entered service in 1955–56, and were the largest, heaviest and most powerful steam locomotives to operate on any metre gauge railway in the world. Photo taken Sunday 9 November 2014.
