Syria 27.9.2008: The delightfully ramshackle rear yard at Cadem Works was home to all five Hedjaz Railway, 1977-built, Romanian, 1500hp Co-Co diesel-electrics, of which No.300 is visible. Also seen are several Ganz-Mavag railcars, 2-8-2 No.260 (Hartmann 3039/1918) minus tender (attached to working sister locomotive No.262), and numerous items of rolling stock, in varying states of decrepitude.
