Locomotive 1315 was built by Alsthom for NS in 1956. After withdrawal the locomotive was taken over by Werkgroep Loc 1501/Stichting Klassieke Locomotieven. It is operational, but not main line approved.

In 1969 NS bought a small class of locomotives (BR27000) from the UK. These operated with light passenger trains until 1986. Locomotive 1501 was taken over by Werkgroep Loc 1501 and operated several special trains until 2007. It is now awaiting restoration.

Trainsets of type Plan V/Mat'64 were only withdrawn quite recently. Number 904 is preserved by Stichting Materieel '64. It is normally based in Amersfoort.

Electric trainset 252 was built for the Dutch Railways (NS) in 1938. It was preserved after withdrawal in 1968. In 2009 the National Railway Museum took over the trainset from STIBANS. The outside of the trainset has been restored in Germany. Restoration of the interior is still going on.

Former freight operating company LOCON bought several electric locomotives class 1600 from NS. After its bankruptcy, Railexperts bought one of them, with operating number 9901.

Strukton is one of the railway infrastructure building and maintenance companies in The Netherlands. It uses several locomotives, and 9508 is one of them. It was built by Vossloh as type G1206. DB Cargo locomotive 6464 next to it was also built by Vossloh but several years earlier as type DE6400.
