British Rail diesel locomotive 18000 is a prototype gas turbine electric locomotive, built in 1946 in Switzerland. It was in daily use until December 1960. The owner is the National Railway Museum but the operational locomotive can make appearances all over the UK. Between mainline duties it takes a rest in Didcot.
